Ananya Nanda Wins Indian Idol Junior 2015
New Delhi: Ananya Nanda from Odisha, who has been appreciated for her terrific singing potential, won the season 2 of popular TV music reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior’on Sunday.
The young singer was successful at beating other two finalists Nahid Afrin and Nithyashree Venkataramanan to bag the coveted title.
As the winner of ‘Indian Idol Junior 2’, Ananya took home the winning trophy and a contract worth Rs. 10 Lakhs from the channel.
Needless to say, Ananya was excited and elated with her win. “This is the best moment of my life. I am speechless! With the mentoring and the training I have received, I am thankful to Indian Idol Junior. I think all my co-contestants deserve this trophy. I am really thankful to the viewers of Sony Entertainment Television for showering us with so much love and support. I am going to miss this platform, training, my friends, Sonakshi Ma’am, Vishal and Salim sir,” she said.
The season two of the show was also special because Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha forayed into TV as a judge. As the actress had mentioned in one of her recent interviews, she succeeded at inducing ‘fun’ element in the show.
The second season saw Hussain Kuwajerwala and Asha Negi of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame as hosts, who left almost everyone in splits with their chemistry and witty one-liners.
Besides impressive performances from the contestants of the show, the grand finale also featured a special act by Sonakshi Sinha and witty jokes by Kapil Sharma. While she performed to a medley of her popular number, Vishal Dadlani too broke into a gig on his recent number ‘Haftey Mei Chaar’ from Abhishek Bachchan-Asin starrer ‘All Is Well’.
The second season of Indian Idol Junior commenced from 30 May 2015 on Sony TV. The season is being aired on Saturday and Sunday nights at 8:30 pm IST. The series is mainly meant for kids aged between five to fifteen years.
The show is hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and co-hosted by Asha Negi. Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is on the judging panel of the show along withVishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade and Salim Merchant.
The voting process that commenced on July 4, 2015 is taking place through digital medium. The audience needs to download Sony LIV app and vote for their favorite contestant through the app. They can also log onto Sony LIV website or simply SMS IDOL <space <<contestant code>> to 5252525.
The winner of the show will receive a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh from Sony Entertainment Television and other prizes from sponsors of the show.
